Whether it be decomposing wood, smudged charcoal, or the flickering light of a screen, Tyler’s work embraces the emotive and ever-changing qualities of materials. Growth, decay, and memory are continuous topics of exploration.  His works—functional and sculptural, physical and digital—live in relationship to, and independent of, the human experience. Figurative and literal layers coagulate and dissolve, blending the melancholy of loss with the curious joy of discovery.
Currently based in Chicago, IL, Tyler holds a Master of Architecture degree from University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Game Art from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. He is a recipient of the Student Design Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects, Thomas F. Ellerbe Scholarship from the Minnesota Architectural Foundation, and Student Academic Excellence Award from University of Minnesota College of Design.
